The Naive Interaction

The Naive Interaction

I gazed up at the man,

his face hidden within the thick trees.

I could not tell what he was.

He seemed to be playing violin with a heart that could feel,

His notes were pure, but his words were so ruthless.

He recalled his actions in his words, it made his heart reel.

I asked him, "Why do you speak of hate,

why do you silence others,

why do you fight,

why do you not care"?

"I see light in your eyes,

I see love in you,

I see grace in you,

hidden within you".

"Are you the devil", I asked,

"who are you,

have you lost something,

or are you struggling to start"?

He smiled back, and said,

"No, dear child, I'm just like you,

I am not the devil, but a confused man

I haven't lost any object, but myself".

I replied, "Man or devil,

I do not care,

we all stumble in the dark,

we must embrace the warmth of life and love, we all must learn".

I have hope,

and so should you
